Daniel Schönfelder

European Legal Advisor

Daniel Schönfelder is RCP's European Legal Advisor. For RCP, he focuses on the drafting and dissemination of clauses for the German and European context by working with stakeholders from business, NGOs, academia and consultancies on responsible contracting. He coordinates the German Team for the project to develop European Model Contract Clauses. He also plays a key role in building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including academia, businesses, NGOs, consultancies and the business and human rights community at large.

 

Daniel is a German lawyer and lecturer in BHR and works at an international logistics firm on the implementation of the German Supply Chain Due Diligence Act. His previous experience involves working with political and civil society actors in the creation of the German Supply Chain Due Diligence Act, on whose design he advised key stakeholders and decision makers, as well as advising businesses from several sectors on its implementation. He regularly gives trainings and lectures on BHR and the implementation of the German Supply Chain Due Diligence Act and the CSDDD. He also regularly publishes on BHR issues in journals and books and co-authored the first handbook on this Act.

 

He graduated from the University of Konstanz Germany in Law (two states exams, both with honors). He also has a LL.M. from Universidad Santo Tomás, Colombia.
